It's hard to focus on work when...

all I want to do is read The Magician! It was released yesterday and I was first in line for my reserved copy! The Magician is the second book in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. I was absolutely enthralled with the first book, The Alchemyst, which I listened to on audio and was expertly narrated by Denis O'Hare. I'm only about a quarter of the way into The Magician, but I'm not disappointed so far. Now, back to reading!

Webcast focuses on struggling readers

A free School Library Journal webcast sponsored by Capstone Publishers will bring together a panel of experts in reading, media center services, and children’s literacy--including school librarians, educators, and a representative from Capstone Press and Stone Arch Books--to cover a range of processes, programs, and ideas that can bolster reading skills, comprehension, and literacy in the K-6 library and classroom.
